Kbb News –Harvey Jones has laid out future growth plans for its showroom network and brand following a turbulent couple of years.
The company, which was rescued in a last minute pre-pack deal in February, says it will open two new locations before the end of 2024 – including a new flagship central London showroom.
However, it has also confirmed that it will close three showrooms, one of which will reopen in a new location in 2025. It has not yet detailed which stores these will be.
Harvey Jones has also completed two showroom refurbishment projects this year, Brighton and Hove which reopened in the summer, and Chester which has opened recently.
Chester is the first Harvey Jones showroom to feature the brand’s complete refresh with a broadened product offering, new logo and brand colours. It also has what the company describes as ‘stronger brand-to-client engagement’.
The redesigned 1,220 sq ft space has five displays including the new Hampton and Hove ranges as well as utility spaces, home cabinetry and organisation and, a first for the brand, a ‘pet kitchen’.
Hampton is described as ‘a modern take on the classic shaker design’ and Hove is a collaboration with furniture brand Swoon to create a more contemporary kitchen.
Vince Gunn was named as the new CEO of Harvey Jones in February 2023, he replaced Darren Woolsgrove who had only led the company through a management buyout in May 2022 .
In February of this year, the company was acquired by a fund managed by RBC BlueBay Asset Management in a pre-pack administration deal.
“There’s no doubt the market has been challenging this year, but it has also been a busy one for us that has driven forward our brand refresh, evolving the positioning of Harvey Jones as designed for life, built for living.”
“As part of the transformation of the Harvey Jones brand and to ensure we are delivering exceptional client experience, this year we have made the decision to close three showrooms, one of which will reopen in its new location in 2025.”
